Engaging with people who start Facebook fundraisers for your nonprofit allows you to encourage them and thank them if you choose. Watching the progress of Facebook fundraisers can also help you know how much Facebook is going to deposit into your account. So how do you know when someone starts a fundraiser for your nonprofit?

Facebook notifies the organization's administrator when a fundraisers raises at least $50. If you have notifications turned on, you'll see a note from Facebook that someone started a fundraiser for you. If you don't have notifications turned on, you will see a list of ongoing fundraisers when you navigate to your administrator page in Facebook.

Fundraisers are listed by oldest first. The list displays:

  • the title of the fundraiser
  • the name of the Facebook user who started it
  • the photo they're using to promote the campaign
  • their goal amount
  • how much they've raised so far
  • how much time is left

Contacting fundraisers as soon as their campaign gains ground at $50 is an opportunity to share tips, encourage them, and show appreciation.
