Facebook Giving Trends 2018

Nonprofits have had a love/hate relationship with Facebook fundraisers since their inception. On the one hand, Facebook is generating millions of new dollars in revenue for charities at a time when overall giving is down. On the other hand, there's virtually no insight into giving trends that would allow nonprofits to predict or manage this new revenue.

We've been gathering data for the last year and are putting the finishing touches on our first annual Facebook Giving Trends Report.

This report shows fundraiser activity by month overall, and activity broken down by size of nonprofit. It also explores whether or not birthday fundraisers can be predicted by the most common birthdays in the US.

Nick Black

Nick Black is the Co-Founder and CEO of GoodUnited, a B2B SaaS company that has raised over $1 billion for nonprofits. He is also the author of One Click to Give, an Amazon bestseller on social and direct messaging fundraising. Nick previously co-founded Stop Soldier Suicide, a major veteran-serving nonprofit, and served as a Ranger-qualified Army Officer with the 173rd Airborne, earning two Bronze Stars. He holds a BA from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Nick lives in Charleston, SC with his wife, Amanda, and their two children.
