About the AMA:

Change is hard. The pandemic hastened changes some of us saw coming but expected to still be years away. For others of us, canceled in-person fundraisers and the resulting slashed budgets caught us completely off guard. Who could have imagined the year 2020 and its impact on the philanthropic community?

Whatever your pandemic trajectory and wherever spring of 2021 finds you, I invite you to an honest Q&A about where the nonprofit world is going next.

  • Which pandemic-necessitated inventions are here to stay? Which were trends?
  • To what “normal” can we expect in-person fundraising events to return?
  • Will the post-pandemic landscape make it harder or easier to convey your cause to donors and prospective supporters?
  • What does community mean in a post-pandemic vocabulary?
  • What is keeping you up at night about the future of fundraising?

Of this we can be certain, the world needs us to champion our causes more than ever. How can we meet the end of the pandemic and the dawn of what’s next prepared to deliver what’s best?

Let’s talk about it!

About the host:

I have been known facetiously to many as the “president of cancer” for nearly 3 decades! I spent 33 years at the American Cancer Society, leading strategy, planning and implementation for name brand events like Relay for Life and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

I also tried and tested new digital strategies to support community and 1:1 fundraising. It was this area of my old role that led me to my new role and a chance to champion the third wave of giving as we move from online giving and email to 1:1 conversational messaging in giving on social media.
